The UTA Board is a working board that serves the Used Truck Association. Being a UTA Board member is a challenging and rewarding way to grow and improve our industry. There are three face-to-face meetings each year, a monthly conference call, and members involved in or chairing all UTA committees.

Any UTA member in good standing may nominate themselves or another UTA member in good standing as long as the nominee meets the following criteria:

  • Have experience in the used truck industry
  • Demonstrate a history of ethical and professional business practices
  • Be willing to advance the goals and objectives promoted by the UTA

UTA Board of Directors Terms

  • UTA Board Members serve a three-year term.
  • Board Members can be elected to a second three-year term, serving a total of six years in two consecutive terms.
  • UTA Board Officers—President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer—are elected by the Board and serve one-year terms.

Responsibilities of UTA Board Members

  • Attend all Board of Directors conference calls or in-person meetings as well as assigned committee meetings.

  • Be informed about our association’s mission, purpose, goals, services, policies, programs, strengths, and needs.

  • Be prepared by reviewing all agendas and supporting materials before all board and committee meetings.

  • Inform others about the organization. Advocate for the organization. Leverage connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to fully achieve UTA’s mission.

  • Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of UTA.

  • During your first year, you will be assigned to co-chair a less demanding committee to help you become familiar with UTA’s processes.
